Take-home uses the shared employee profile and statutory estimates. Total package adds gross pay, employer EPF/SOCSO/EIS and the benefits entered for each offer; non-cash benefits are not included in take-home.

Example scenarios

  • RM5,000 vs RM5,800 offer

The higher offer nets about RM625 more a month after EPF, SOCSO, EIS, SKBBK and PCB.

    ≈ RM625 more net

  • Same gross, different profile

Age, residency, children, reliefs and SKBBK enrollment can change the statutory result even at equal salaries.

Understanding the numbers

How the figures above are worked out — the rules, rates and reasoning behind every line.

Estimates only. Results are for planning purposes and may differ from official figures. Confirm against the relevant authority before making financial decisions.

Gross isn't take-home

A bigger salary doesn't always mean proportionally more in your pocket. EPF, SOCSO, EIS, SKBBK and Malaysia's progressive PCB all scale differently with income.

This compares offers side by side using one shared employee profile, so salary, allowances, bonuses and employer-paid benefits are separated clearly.

How it's calculated

Each offer is run through the salary engine with the selected age, worker type, tax residency, marital status, children, reliefs, zakat and SKBBK enrollment.

Take-home compares cash after employee deductions. Total package compares gross annual pay plus employer statutory contributions and any non-cash benefits entered for each offer.

Frequently asked questions

Is a higher salary always better take-home?

Almost always more in absolute terms, but not proportionally — Malaysia's progressive tax means a higher band applies to the extra income, so net pay rises a little slower than gross.

Does this include SKBBK?

Yes — SKBBK / Lindung 24 Jam is included at the 0.75% rate. It's optional for Malaysian/PR employees (opt-out, since 8 Jul 2026) but mandatory for foreign workers, so the engine keeps it on by default.

Does this include bonuses?

Yes. Enter annual bonus under each offer's optional details. Monthly mode focuses on recurring take-home; annual mode includes the bonus in annual take-home and package comparisons.
