Who we are

MyKira (mykira.my) is operated by Techne Sdn. Bhd. (Company No. 202501056670 (1658076-W)), a company registered in Malaysia. For this policy, we are the data user under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). Contact: hello@mykira.my.

What we collect

Calculator inputs are processed on your device. Every calculator runs in your browser. The salary, loan, tax, health and other figures you enter are not sent to us or stored by us.

Shareable salary links. On the salary calculator, your inputs are written into the page address (e.g. ?s=5000) so you can bookmark or share a result. If you share or reload that link, the figures travel with it like any web address and may appear in our hosting provider's standard request logs. Don't share the link if you consider the figures private.

Request & feedback form. If you use the Request page, we receive what you type (for example the calculator you want, a description, and an optional email address). We use it only to review your request or reply to you. We do not sell it or use it for marketing.

Technical data. To stop spam, the form uses your IP address as a temporary rate-limit key (at most 5 submissions per 15 minutes). That key is deleted automatically after 15 minutes. Like any website, our host also keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, page requested, browser type) for security and reliability.

Anonymous analytics. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Plausible) to count page views and see which calculators are popular. It does not use cookies, track you across sites or build a profile of you.

How long we keep it

• Request & feedback submissions: up to 30 days in our database, then deleted automatically. A copy may remain in the email inbox we reply from until the conversation is closed.
• Rate-limit keys (IP address): 15 minutes.
• Hosting logs: per our host's standard retention (typically days, not months).
• Analytics: aggregate counts only; no personal data is stored.

Who processes it for us

We use these service providers. Some are located outside Malaysia, so your data may be transferred abroad; we only use providers that protect it under their published terms.

• Vercel — website hosting and request logs.
• Upstash — stores form submissions (30 days) and rate-limit keys.
• Resend — delivers form submissions to our inbox by email.
• Plausible Analytics — cookieless, aggregate traffic statistics.
• Google AdSense — advertising (see below). See Google's policy.
• Frankfurter (European Central Bank rates) — when you open the currency converter, your browser fetches exchange rates directly from this service, which sees your IP address like any website you visit. No other data is sent.

We do not sell personal data, and we disclose it only to these providers or where required by law.

Cookies, local storage & advertising

MyKira itself sets no cookies. We store one setting in your browser's local storage: your choice on our advertising notice, so we don't ask again.

MyKira is free because it is supported by ads from Google AdSense. In Malaysia and most countries, ads are shown by default and may be personalised. Choose Turn off personalised ads on our notice and you will only see non-personalised ads, which don't use your browsing history. We remember your choice, so we won't ask again. We pass your choice to Google through Google Consent Mode before any advertising script loads.

• Unless you turn them off, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Non-personalised ads may still use cookies for frequency capping, fraud prevention and measurement.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices.

Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland see Google's certified consent message instead, and no advertising cookies are used until they consent there.

Affiliate links. Some pages may show clearly labelled partner links (for example loan comparison or insurance quotes). If you click one and buy, we may earn a commission. The partner's own privacy policy applies on their site.

Your rights under the PDPA

You may, free of charge:

• ask whether we hold personal data about you and get a copy of it;
• ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate;
• withdraw consent or ask us to delete it (for example a form submission);
• opt out of personalised ads at any time via Google Ads Settings (linked above), or clear this site's data to see our notice again.

Email hello@mykira.my with enough detail for us to find your data (for example the email address you used). We respond within 21 days. Because we run no accounts, most requests concern a form submission.

Security

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS with HSTS). Form data is accessible only to us and our processors above. If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to cause significant harm, we will notify affected people and the Personal Data Protection Commissioner as required by law.

Children

MyKira is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. Please don't submit the request form if you are under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted on this page.
